		<description>As long as SEM's provide value and enhance campaigns by reducing ROAS and acquisition costs then they will always trump the use of technology alone.  For example at SendTraffic we value our Account Management Team as much as our proprietary technology and you can see some specific details at http://sendtraffic.com/our-people.php. If the software is a crutch then you already do not have a core value proposition and you are not a true SEM.</description>

		<description>I read the article.  It was biased, but he made a lot of good points.  As with everything on the internet though, read both sides of the argument and make an informed decision.  99.9% of people who write any kind of content online have an agenda- or at least they are on one side more than the other.</description>

I have no problem with the basis of in-house over outsourcing PPC campaign management argument. I understand in-house campaigns might well perform better than outsourcing in some circumstances. 

It just felt like that was far to much of an agenda attached to the article. Something you don't often see over at SEL. Automated search marketing tools can be great but are a long way off providing instant expertise as implied.</description>

It's no different from you, as an agency, having the viewpoint that outsourcing is best. That said, I could have made it clearer from the start that Marketo sells B2B search marketing tools. It was never my intent to mislead anyone and I apologize if you were offended by what was perceived as a "sales pitch".

Danny Sullivan posted a comment to the article on Search Engine Land in which he concludes that was is right for one company will not be right for another company, and that right answer for your company will depend on your available time and budget. Given that, I don't see how providing marketers with a third option besides AdWords-only or an agency can be a bad thing.

By the way, I agree that there are better agencies and worse agencies, and yes, you are right that 40% is a high price to charge. (This particular agency was "full service" and wrote and designed all the landing pages as well.)</description>
