So as we approach the last week of the Threadwatch Dave Pasternack SEO contest, it’s interesting to see the new movers and some ppc adverts appearing.
A current search shows top spot is taken by Oilman who has put a permanent 301 redirect over to his buddy Greg Boser who posted a great piece about sticking up for the ‘real’ Dave Pasternack who is a chef.
Next up is Threadwatchs original SEO contest article, whose rank has really increased over the past week or so. Which is funny, as I see there is a new editor over at Threadwatch these days.

In third place is Graywolf with his amusing article on how Dave can make up to the SEO industry, but I actually prefer his pay per click advert -

So where is Dave’s own bio page? Looks about 8th to me.

Don’t be fooled by Greg’s “sticking up” for the real Dave Pasternack. He isn’t. He and oilman are just banding together to fool Google into think that they have the most relevant information about Dave Pasternack. This is duplicitous for a couple reasons. First, they are not relevant to any searcher looking for either myself or the chef, as the entry is really all about the SEO contest. Second, it undermines a contest if two of the participants are helping each other out. Kind of like a trial where the lawyers on opposing sides are in cahoots.
